Eight kilograms of explosives discovered in Nussensee in Bad Ischl
A resident of Tyrol found four blocks of TNT in the Nussensee near Bad Ischl. The disposal service was mobilized while police warned of further discoveries.
On Friday, a resident of Tyrol discovered four blocks of TNT weighing a total of eight kilograms in the dried-up Nussensee in Bad Ischl. At least one block was classified as highly explosive. Following the discovery, the explosive ordnance disposal service of the Federal Army was alerted to secure the explosive material.
Police have urged people to avoid the Nussensee and warn of the life-threatening risk posed by other potential discovery sites. There is a possibility that additional munitions-related materials are hidden in the area.
