Electric vehicles have proven to be a significantly cheaper alternative to petrol cars in operation. According to a report presented in Brussels by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), battery-operated electric vehicles were about 33 percent cheaper than conventional petrol cars in the European Union last year.

The report highlights that declining battery costs and high fuel prices have contributed to this cost advantage. These factors not only make electric vehicles more attractive in terms of driving but also positively impact the overall operating cost calculation.

In addition to lower operating costs, the purchase prices for electric vehicles are also trending downward, further increasing the appeal of these vehicles. The aforementioned reasons could strengthen the growing interest in electric vehicles.
