Mount Etna, Europe's most active volcano, has erupted once again, releasing ash and lava. According to tagesschau.de, air traffic on the Italian holiday island of Sicily has been temporarily restricted. Airports in the surrounding area were particularly affected, with only one flight able to depart from Catania in the morning.
The volcanic activity coincides with the peak travel season, causing significant problems for tourists. Many holidaymakers are in distress due to the eruption, as the warning level for the volcano remains at red, indicating an increased risk.
