On Thursday, the European Commission reported that the European Union's gas reserves have reached 62%. During a press conference in Brussels, spokesperson Eva Hrncirova stated that the situation remains stable, thereby eliminating any possibility of risk for the upcoming winter.

The supply to the reserves is occurring at a slower pace than usual, partly due to the war in Iran, which is diverting liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Asia. This factor is raising concerns about the EU's capacity to meet gas supply during the colder months.

Nevertheless, the Commission's spokesperson emphasized that at this moment, there are no elements justifying concerns regarding supply security. The stability of the reserves is viewed as a positive sign in the current geopolitical landscape.

The information on the state of gas reserves comes at a time when Europe is facing significant challenges due to past energy crises, prompting the Commission to closely monitor its reserves and respond to potential risks.

Brussels continues to regularly communicate gas supply levels, ensuring that the public and Member States are informed and prepared for any eventuality.
