European stock markets displayed mixed behavior, influenced by a significant rise in oil prices. Futures contracts for commodities rose by more than 3%, driven by recent U.S. attacks on Iran, which heightened tensions in the Middle East region.

The FTSE MIB index in Italy saw a slight drop of 0.01%, while Portugal's PSI 20 managed a gain of 0.07%.

The price of Brent crude oil for November closed up 2.71%, reaching $90.49, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for October rose by 2.83%, settling at $85.76 per barrel. These increases in oil prices coincide with reported lower reserves and contribute to instability in financial markets.

Yields on sovereign bonds also rose significantly, negatively impacting European stock exchanges and Wall Street futures. The situation has generated concern among investors regarding potential further interest rate hikes.

In the United States, Wall Street opened lower, and by the close, its major indices were also in decline. The Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by 0.79%, influenced by the increase in oil prices and rising bond yields, which rekindled fears of inflation.

The massive sell-off of global bonds added pressure to the markets, highlighting investor uncertainty amid recent escalations of tensions in the Middle East and their impact on fuel prices.
