Cambuur loses 0-4 to Excelsior in Eredivisie season opener
Cambuur suffered a heavy defeat against Excelsior in the opening of the Eredivisie season, losing 0-4.

The new Eredivisie season started on Friday with a match between Cambuur and Excelsior. Cambuur, newly promoted, played at Kooi Stadium against Excelsior, who entered the match with confidence following a successful pre-season campaign.
Before halftime, the Rotterdammers had already made a difference, leading 0-3 at the break. Excelsior showcased their strength from the beginning and controlled the game throughout the match.
In the second half, Excelsior remained dominant, resulting in a fourth goal and bringing the final score to 0-4. This victory marks a successful start for coach Ruben den Uil's team.

For Cambuur, under coach Johan Plat, this was a disappointing return to the Eredivisie. The Frisian club had high hopes after their promotion, but reality proved harsh.
The match took place in Leeuwarden, marking the first time Cambuur played in the highest Dutch football league again.
The defeat sets a challenging tone for Cambuur this season, and the team will need to push for improvements in their upcoming matches.
