Fabian Figueiredo, a deputy from the Left Bloc, has filed a complaint against André Ventura, leader of Chega, due to the publication of a video on social media. The video, taken in the Assembly of the Republic, includes footage of the deputy, which Ventura claims shows Figueiredo pretending to limp after recent demonstrations.

According to Figueiredo, the recording was made without his knowledge or consent, raising questions about the legality of capturing images within parliamentary premises. The deputy has requested that the Assembly address the tolerance of such actions, which he deems unacceptable.

The complaint was formally submitted on Wednesday night, and it is reported that the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues, has forwarded the case to the Transparency Commission. This commission will be responsible for investigating the allegations made by Figueiredo and assessing the situation.

The incident has sparked a debate over the use of digital platforms for political purposes and the ethics of disseminating information involving sitting deputies. The case is emblematic of the current political climate, where digital communication can influence public and political perceptions.

André Ventura defended his actions, arguing that his publications aim to question the account of events that occurred during the demonstrations. In turn, Figueiredo appeals for the need to protect the parliamentary environment, emphasizing that deputies should be able to operate without fear of being filmed or ridiculed in moments of vulnerability.

The Transparency Commission is now awaiting the review of documents and testimonies related to Figueiredo's complaint, while the parties involved prepare for possible hearings that could clarify the facts.
