Failures in vaccination platform lead to nurses' alerts and SPMS response
The Portuguese Nurses' Union reported failures in the vaccination platform, while the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health acknowledge constraints.

The Portuguese Nurses' Union (ASPE) has raised concerns about "successive failures" in the vaccination management platform, which include frequent interruptions and registration errors. ASPE has demanded that the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health (SPMS) implement an urgent solution to address the identified constraints.
According to ASPE, issues with the platform have created significant difficulties, such as the inability to access vaccination histories. In light of these challenges, the association has already filed a formal complaint with SPMS, although it has not yet received a response.
SPMS acknowledged the existence of failures in the vaccination management platform. However, the agency assured that the vaccination program itself was never in jeopardy, despite the reported interruptions and inefficiencies.

Several health professionals have expressed concern about the situation, indicating that the effectiveness of vaccination could be compromised if the issues are not addressed promptly.
ASPE emphasized that the failures are not merely technical, as they directly impact the daily work of nurses. The organization is expecting a swift response from SPMS officials to minimize the effects of the failures on healthcare provision.
The Shared Services of the Ministry of Health stated that they are working on resolving the constraints but have not yet provided a timeline for implementing the necessary improvements to the platform.
