The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the food licence of Blinkit for its facility located in Malad West, Mumbai. The decision followed reports detailing severe hygiene violations, including cockroach infestations and improper storage conditions. Food items were reportedly placed on rusted racks and the floor, raising significant concerns about safety standards.
This is the second licence suspension for Blinkit in a short period, as similar hygiene issues were previously identified in other warehouses operated by the company. Reports also noted instances of inadequate cleanliness in cold storage areas, with stocks of expired or spoiled packaged food.
