At the Diamond League meeting in Zurich, Femke Broeders-Bol improved her Dutch record for the 800 meters to 1:54.71.

On Thursday, Femke Broeders-Bol improved her own Dutch record for the 800 meters at the Diamond League meeting in Zurich. She clocked a time of 1:54.71, breaking her previous record of 1:55.41, set just last Friday, by seven-tenths of a second.
In the race, Broeders-Bol, her Swiss rival Audrey Werro, and Georgia Hunter Bell quickly took the initiative. The three athletes were close together in the early stages of the race, but it was only in the final bend that Werro was able to move ahead.
Despite Broeders-Bol's fast time, it was not enough for victory in the race. Werro managed to make the difference and finished ahead of her Dutch competitor.

The athlete from the Netherlands, who was cheered on in the stands by Ellen van Langen, confirmed her good form with this performance as she prepares for upcoming events.
The Diamond League round in Zurich attracts a large audience and is an important event for athletes to showcase their performances and set new records. Broeders-Bol's record will undoubtedly enhance her reputation as one of the leading middle-distance runners in the Netherlands.
This achievement marks another significant moment in Broeders-Bol's career, which has increasingly come into the spotlight due to her fast times and strong performances. Her next challenges will be in the same series of important competitions, where she hopes to make further progress.
