Fire Breaks Out at Libya's Zawiya Refinery Following Previous Drone Attack
A significant fire erupted at Libya's Zawiya refinery, which was recently targeted in a drone attack, raising operational concerns.
On Monday, a fire broke out in a diesel tank at the Zawiya refinery in Libya, which is the largest refinery in the country. This event occurred just days after the facility was hit by a drone. The circumstances surrounding the latest fire are currently unknown, as reported by Brega Petroleum Marketing Company.
Brega Petroleum Marketing Company, which is managed by the state oil firm National Oil Corporation (NOC) and handles fuel supplies, issued a statement regarding the incident. The refinery is located approximately 40 kilometers west of Tripoli.
Following the recent drone attack and this fire, the NOC has indicated that it may halt operations at the Zawiya refinery if such attacks continue.
