Fire in Mira-Sintra mobilizes over 150 firefighters

A fire in a brush area in the parish of Agualva and Mira-Sintra, municipality of Sintra, has mobilized 152 firefighters and an aerial unit, with no homes at risk so far.

A fire broke out this Saturday in the parish of Agualva and Mira-Sintra in the municipality of Sintra, mobilizing 152 firefighters to combat the flames. In addition to the firefighters, an aerial unit was also deployed to assist in extinguishing the fire.

According to information from RTP, more than 160 operatives were involved in the incident, reflecting a significant mobilization of resources to contain the fire.

During the operation, two firefighters sustained injuries, but they were not serious. The situation required a quick response from the authorities to ensure the safety of those involved.

Despite the scale of the response, the flames have not presented any direct risk to nearby homes so far. Operations continue in order to completely extinguish the fire.

The causes of the fire have not yet been officially disclosed, and authorities are investigating the origin of the flames that affected the brush area.

The location of the fire is near the Quartel da Carregueira, an important reference in the area, but no major damages or evacuations related to this event have been reported. Firefighting teams remain on the ground.
