Fire in Niebla (Huelva) stabilized after nine days of fighting

The forest fire in Niebla, Huelva, was declared stabilized at 10:30 AM on Sunday, following nine days of efforts by firefighting teams. The Infoca Plan has been operational in the area, using various techniques and resources to control the fire that affected more than 38,000 hectares across eleven municipalities, according to reports from El Mundo.

The 417 people who were evacuated as a precaution can now return to their homes. The actions of emergency services have been crucial in managing the crisis and ensuring the safety of residents and the surrounding environment.

While stabilization has been achieved in Niebla, reports indicate that in other parts of Spain, such as Las Peñas de Riglos, Huesca, fires remain out of control, leading to the evacuation of approximately one thousand residents. The flames in this region have burned at least 15,000 hectares.

The scale of the Niebla fire has been described as one of the most complicated in the last decade, according to Juanma Moreno, although it has largely been contained thanks to the coordinated efforts of firefighting teams.
