The nine representative unions of fire and rescue services (Sdis) gathered for a joint meeting to discuss their concerns with Laurent Nuñez at the Ministry of the Interior. This meeting took place on Thursday, August 13, and lasted nearly two hours.

Firefighters expressed their anger over the lack of resources available to them, a situation highlighted by the numerous fires that have affected France in the past month. The unions indicated that the meeting did not meet their expectations.

Following this disappointment, the unions have called for an "intensive mobilization" scheduled for September 29. This initiative aims to draw attention to their concerns and the working conditions of firefighters.

During this meeting, Laurent Nuñez also addressed the draft law on the modernization of civil security, which will be presented on September 8. The unions hope that this project will include concrete measures to improve the situation of rescue services.

The discussion between firefighters and the Minister of the Interior takes place against the backdrop of a summer marked by mega-fires, highlighting the need for effective interventions and adequate resources for fire services.
