Fires in Warehouses Mobilize Firefighters in Ribeirão das Neves and Mauá
Firefighters tackle large-scale blazes in warehouses in Ribeirão das Neves and Mauá, with distinct operations at each location.

A large fire broke out on Saturday afternoon (31) in a warehouse located near km 514.2 of BR-040, in Ribeirão das Neves, near Belo Horizonte. According to the Fire Department, the flames remained out of control throughout the night. The warehouse, which was closed and only had a security guard on site, did not result in any injuries during the incident, as reported.
Firefighters made efforts to control the blaze, which was deemed extinguished around 2 a.m. After controlling the fire, teams continued working on the aftermath on Sunday morning (1). The affected company, which operates with materials for environmental recovery, suffered significant damage to its facilities.
In Mauá, in the Greater São Paulo area, another large fire struck a warehouse of a mineral oil factory on the same day. The Fire Department mobilized a large number of vehicles, totaling 21 during the most critical moments of the firefighting efforts, which lasted about 17 hours.

The fire in Mauá began Saturday afternoon and was considered extinguished by Sunday morning. The firefighting operations involved the use of foam and were carried out on three distinct fronts, with fire crews working overnight to control the situation.
Reports indicate that the fire was considered extinguished around 4:30 a.m., but hot spots re-emerged, requiring ongoing attention from rescue teams. In total, 21 vehicles were used to combat the fire, as reported by the Fire Department.
The fires at both locations highlight the complexity of firefighting operations that occur frequently, necessitating intensive mobilization of resources and personnel to prevent further damage. In the case of Ribeirão das Neves, access to the affected company and the control of flammable materials were critical factors in containing the fire.
