At the Suikerrock festival in Tienen, the Belgian army has set up a recruitment stand for the first time. This initiative gives festival-goers the chance to learn more about a career in Defence.

Defence Minister Theo Francken (N-VA) visited the stand to support the initiative and encourage young people to consider a military career. He stated that it is beneficial to be present at a festival during the recruitment season.

Festival visitors can test their military skills and discover what the army has to offer. This marks a new step in recruitment efforts in Flanders, which had not previously taken place at festivals.

Francken indicated that, depending on the success of this initiative, there may be opportunities to have recruitment stands at other festivals next year.
