The rating agency Fitch announced that it has raised Portugal's rating from 'A' to 'A+'. This update was released on Friday, and Fitch noted that the outlook for the country is now stable.
Analysts had already anticipated a possible improvement in the country's rating, considering the favorable evolution of macroeconomic indicators. Following the last assessment on March 6, Fitch had decided to keep the rating unchanged, but now believes the situation has changed.
This change in rating reflects confidence in the country's finances and could have repercussions on the financing conditions for both the government and the private sector in Portugal.
