Four men have been arrested by the police on suspicion of threatening Paul Depla, the mayor of Breda, with death. The arrests occurred after an investigation was launched following a report made by the mayor himself.

The mayor filed a complaint after the unveiling of a banner reading 'Depla Dead', which was displayed on March 8 during a football match between NAC and Feyenoord outside a café on Meidoornstraat. This banner drew the attention of the authorities.

A crucial lead in the case came from a photo on the phone of a NAC supporter. The suspects were depicted in this image, ultimately leading to their arrest.

Two months after the incident, the Public Prosecution Service announced that the investigation is ongoing. Further details regarding the arrest or the identities of the suspects have not been disclosed so far.
