Four-story building collapses in São Paulo, leaving dozens injured
A commercial building in downtown São Paulo collapsed, resulting in injuries and a large-scale rescue operation.

A four-story building collapsed on Maria Joaquina Street in the Brás district of São Paulo around 6:30 p.m. on Friday (6). The collapse occurred while the building housed an operating store, which was successfully evacuated.
According to reports, around 35 people were at the site at the time of the collapse. Initial information indicates that approximately 25 individuals sustained minor to moderate injuries. The injured were attended to, and all are in stable condition, with no reports of fatalities.
Dozens of firefighters and emergency response teams were mobilized to the site to carry out rescue operations. The rescue team assessed the situation and ensured the safety of those present, removing the injured for medical attention.

Preliminary information suggests that the cause of the building's collapse may have been the excessive weight of the fabrics stored in the shop. Local authorities are investigating the structural conditions of the building to identify possible faults and assign responsibilities.
The collapse prompted a significant mobilization of emergency resources, and several witnesses reported moments of panic before the rescue operation. Emergency teams evacuated the building and began attending to the injured, providing urgent medical care.
This incident highlights the need for stricter safety inspections in commercial buildings and compliance with construction and safety regulations to prevent such accidents in the future.
