Franco Colapinto finishes 12th in Formula 1 Mexico GP qualifying
The Argentine driver advanced to Q2 but failed to reach Q3, starting in 12th position in the race.

Franco Colapinto participated in the practice sessions for the Mexico City Grand Prix, where he had his first experience on the asphalt of the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. In the first practice, the Argentine driver was replaced by Gabriele Minì, who finished in 14th place, while Charles Leclerc achieved the best time.
In his only free practice session, Colapinto finished 16th in the second round of training. He reflected in his statements that there was much to improve, alluding to his initial performance over the weekend.
Despite a challenging start, Colapinto was optimistic for the qualifying session, where he ultimately finished in 12th place. This positions him ahead of his teammate Pierre Gasly, who will start from 10th in the race.

During qualifying, Colapinto managed to enter Q2 but did not succeed in advancing to Q3. The driver expressed his regret after qualifying, mentioning a message he received from Steve Nielsen, head of Alpine, regarding the importance of gaining positions at the start.
Lewis Hamilton secured pole position, achieving a milestone by becoming the oldest driver to take a pole with Ferrari since 1982. Colapinto and Gasly will be among the drivers attempting to advance from their grid positions.
The Mexico Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, November 1, and Colapinto's performance in qualifying has generated excitement among his fans. The race will be held at the iconic Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, known for its festive atmosphere and large fan attendance.
