Fuel prices in Portugal are set to increase again next Monday, with forecasts suggesting a rise of 15 cents per liter for diesel and around 12 cents per liter for gasoline. This information was provided by the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP).

This increase is being linked to the recent resurgence of U.S. attacks on Iran, which have directly impacted fuel costs since the onset of the conflict in the Middle East. Gasoline is already less than a cent away from its annual maximum, continuing the upward trend that has been occurring for nine consecutive weeks.

While gasoline approaches its peak limits, diesel is also on track to reach its highest price since the beginning of the conflict, although its price rise in the last week has been more moderate, according to the news agency El País.

Speculation around prices is causing concern among drivers, who are preparing for a scenario of high prices at the pump. The estimated increase in diesel prices is significant, as it could represent the largest rise in over four years.

According to various news sources, the expected price increases for next week reflect not only the volatility of the fuel market but also the interaction with global factors such as conflicts and international politics.

News about fuel prices is discouraging, and the verification of these values will be conducted as soon as the new prices go into effect, presenting additional challenges for consumers in Portugal.
