This week, gasoline and diesel prices in the Netherlands have decreased slightly. According to the consumer benefit platform UnitedConsumers, the price of a liter of gasoline has dropped by about 5 cents, while diesel has become approximately 6 cents cheaper. This offers some relief to motorists at the pump.

At the same time, oil prices remain sensitive, despite easing tensions surrounding Iran, as reported by De Telegraaf. A shortage of refineries, such as in Pernis, Botlek, and Europoort, prevents consumers from fully benefiting from lower oil prices. The anticipated expansion of refining capacity in Europe is uncertain, as there is an aim to phase out polluting facilities.
