Girondins de Bordeaux requested to be heard by the French Football Federation (FFF) in hopes of rejoining National 2 after being relegated. On Thursday, the FFF's executive committee decided to keep the club in Régional 1, according to several sources, including RMC Sport and Sud Ouest.

This request for re-entry followed a concerning situation for the club, whose future remains uncertain and could approach judicial liquidation. The decision by the executive committee was confirmed by reports from RMC Sport.

On Wednesday, the Minister of Sports had also contacted the president of the FFF to request the convening of an extraordinary executive committee to reconsider the exclusion of Girondins de Bordeaux from national championships, a decision that had been dictated by the administrative court.

However, hopes for rejoining National 2 now seem almost extinguished. Comments from various specialists and observers of French football highlight the severity of the club's situation, often described as a former monument of French football.

The discussion around the future of Girondins de Bordeaux has sparked reactions among supporters and football stakeholders, who continue to follow the unfolding events with concern. This club, which has known glory days, now faces a difficult reality.

Thus, while discussions have taken place behind the scenes, the FFF has taken a clear position by keeping the Girondins in Régional 1, but without announcing any immediate measures for the club.
