GNR seizes 16 heavy vehicles for tampering with emission control systems

Sixteen heavy freight vehicles were confiscated by the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) in the districts of Leiria, Coimbra, and Castelo Branco. The seizure occurred due to modifications in the electronic systems designed to inhibit the injection of AdBlue, an additive used to reduce pollutant emissions.

The operation was initiated following an investigation that lasted approximately one year and three months, culminating in the seizure of the vehicles for violating environmental regulations.
