Government announces investment of 630 million euros in healthcare

The Government of Portugal has announced that the healthcare sector will receive additional funding of 630 million euros through the Recovery and Resilience Program (PRR). This investment aims at various objectives, including the refurbishment of health units and the modernization of the National Health Service (SNS).

In addition to refurbishments, the funds will be used for the acquisition of four helicopters intended for medical emergency services, thereby increasing the response capacity in critical situations.

Paulo Muacho, a representative of the government, praised the work done by Luís Neves, stating that he has proven to be

a good minister.

This recognition comes in the context of ongoing efforts to improve the conditions of the SNS and expand the available healthcare services for the population. The government has emphasized the importance of this funding amid the growing needs in public health.

Meanwhile, the investment in healthcare is not the only topic currently under discussion, as the payment of 2.6 million euros to the teachers responsible for grading exams has also been authorized.

Fernando Alexandre, in recent statements, confirmed the signing of the authorization regarding the payment, which will be made alongside the August salary, highlighting the priority given to educators in compensating them for their work in electronic grading.
