The Minister of Education, Fernando Alexandre, has signed authorization for the payment of €2.67 million to teachers who participated in grading the national Secondary School exams. This information was confirmed in a statement sent to newsrooms on Friday.

According to the statement, schools will be able to start requesting the funds from the Agency on the same date, thus facilitating the compensation process for the teachers.

This measure from the Ministry of Education resumes a practice that had not been implemented for 15 years, raising renewed concerns about the working conditions of teachers involved in exam grading.
