The German men's hockey team secured their place in the knockout stage of the World Cup in Wavre with a 1-0 victory against the host team from Belgium. This result ensures the team's progression into the next round of the tournament, marking an important step in their World Cup campaign.

In contrast, the German women's team suffered a narrow 2-3 defeat against Argentina in their second group match. Following this loss, the DHB team is under pressure and needs a win in their final group game to qualify for the next round.
