Hurricane Trudy intensifies to Category 3 as it approaches Mexico
Trudy has become a Category 3 hurricane, generating heavy rainfall in several Mexican states and prompting alerts along the Pacific coast.

Hurricane Trudy has reached Category 3 status while located near the Mexican Pacific coast. The phenomenon is expected to produce heavy rainfall, with accumulations ranging from 4 to 12 inches in various regions, including Guerrero, Oaxaca, and Michoacán, according to reports from various sources.
Authorities have issued alerts in the states of Oaxaca and Guerrero, urging the establishment of shelters and the closure of navigation in Acapulco. The coordinator of the National Meteorological Service (SMN) anticipates that Trudy's wind intensity could reach up to Category 4 during the weekend.
Trudy has had a significant impact in southeastern Mexico, where extraordinary precipitation has been reported. Despite fluctuations in the hurricane's intensity, severe rains continue to affect the area, and warnings have been issued regarding potential flooding.

Moreover, the SMN has communicated that Trudy could interact with a cold front, potentially generating additional adverse weather conditions, such as winds up to 120 kilometers per hour along the coasts of Tamaulipas and Veracruz.
Although the hurricane has diminished in category at times, forecasts indicate that the system could strengthen again. Monitoring of its trajectory continues, especially in the most affected risk areas.
Finally, due to the persistent effects of Trudy and the associated cold front, authorities have maintained prevention zones and alerts in various communities along the Mexican coast. The population has been warned about the risk of property damage and overflow.
