IL and Chega criticize government over pensions
The parties IL and Chega accuse the government of wasting time on pension reforms and preparing to cut them.

The Iniciativa Liberal (IL) party stated that the government continues to delay the necessary pension reform, considering the state of Social Security is not surprising. IL criticizes the lack of government action and calls for progress on the essential changes to ensure the sustainability of the pension system.
On the other hand, Chega's president, André Ventura, reprimanded the government, stating that there is a potential cut to pensions. In a speech that addressed various topics such as immigration and corruption, Ventura highlighted Chega's intent to push for an inquiry commission regarding Luís Neves's mandates at the Polícia Judiciária.
Ventura also mentioned that Chega plans to insist on reducing the retirement age in the State Budget. The proposal includes measures related to the expulsion of immigrants who have committed crimes, which has become a strong theme on the party's agenda.

Ventura's statements align with IL's criticism of the government's lack of effective measures regarding pensions. Both parties have expressed concern about the sustainability of Social Security but with different approaches.
Additionally, the issue of loss of nationality was again mentioned by Ventura, linking it to the pension situation, which may indicate a connection among the various topics addressed in his speech.
Overall, political pressure on the government is increasing as opposition parties intensify their criticism. The discussion surrounding pensions and the need for necessary reforms remains a central point in the ongoing political debate.
