Inter Milan has completed the acquisition of midfielder Curtis Jones from Liverpool for a fee reported to be €35 million (£30 million). This transfer marks the third English player the Italian champions have signed this summer, following their ongoing recruitment strategy.

According to multiple sources, including ANSA and la Repubblica, the deal has been confirmed, and it is expected to bolster Inter's squad moving forward. Jones is anticipated to become a key player under coach Cristian Chivu.

Jones joins Inter at a time when he is entering the final year of his contract with Liverpool, where he has spent 16 years since joining as a youth player. The move comes after Inter made a failed €25 million bid for the midfielder in June, signaling their long-held interest in securing his services.

Liverpool had previously valued Jones at approximately €40 million, but given his contract situation, the club has agreed to lower the asking price to facilitate the transfer. This aligns with their need to manage squad changes and finances as the transfer window progresses.

Sources indicate that Inter Milan has been pursuing Jones since January, highlighting their determination to add depth and talent to their midfield. The finalization of this agreement demonstrates Inter's commitment to strengthening their team for the upcoming season.

The transfer is expected to be formalized shortly, with official announcements anticipated from both clubs. The signing of Jones reflects Inter's strategic approach in the transfer market as they continue to compete both domestically and in European competitions.
