Iran continues closure of Strait of Hormuz until agreements are met by Washington

The closure of the Strait of Hormuz, crucial amidst tensions between Iran and the US, will last until Washington meets the demands outlined in a June agreement.

The Strait of Hormuz, an important maritime route in the context of tensions between Iran and the United States, will remain closed until Washington fulfills its commitments outlined in the agreement signed in June. This statement was made by Iran's chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, on Tuesday, the 18th.

Ghalibaf stated that the reopening of the strait is conditional upon the US government meeting several demands. Among the points in the memorandum of understanding are the lifting of the American blockade on Iranian ports and the suspension of sanctions imposed on oil.

Additionally, the agreement stipulates the release of Tehran's frozen assets and the cessation of threats and military operations against Iran on all fronts.

The situation remains a critical point in relations between the two countries, with the closure of the strait having a significant impact on global trade routes.
