Renfe is preparing to enter the Portuguese railway market after facing challenges in France. According to the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, the company is seeking to certify its Talgo series 106 and 107 trains for operation in the neighboring country.

Puente commented in an interview with Europa Press that the reorientation of Renfe's railway expansion is due to difficulties encountered in the French railway network, where the company has faced several incidents. This situation has negatively impacted the number of high-speed users, which has decreased by 1.2 million in the last quarter.

Renfe's strategy focuses on developing high-speed services in Portugal, taking advantage of the need to improve railway connectivity in the region while overcoming obstacles in France.
