Iran has announced that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the United States addresses specific conditions set by the Iranian authorities. This statement follows an interim agreement between the two countries that was signed in June but has since collapsed over disagreements regarding control of the strategic waterway.

According to a representative from Iran, the ongoing tensions stem partly from military actions initiated by the US and Israel against Iran earlier this year, which have escalated into broader conflicts in the region. The Iranian negotiator emphasized that US compliance with their demands is crucial for any potential reopening of the Strait.
