Israel conducts deadliest airstrikes on Lebanon since ceasefire
After airstrikes that killed at least eleven people in southern Lebanon, Israel threatens further attacks on Hezbollah.

Israel has conducted one of the deadliest airstrikes on Lebanon since the ceasefire began. According to Le Monde, at least eleven people died in the bombings in the south of the country. Among the victims were also women and children. These attacks have attracted international attention and escalated tensions along the Lebanese-Israeli border.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun commented on the attacks, labeling them a 'clear signal' regarding future negotiations between Israel and Lebanon. These talks were scheduled for September, but the escalating violence could hinder the discussions. Aoun made it clear that the attacks convey a strong message.
The Israeli army has announced that it is prepared to carry out further strikes against Hezbollah to prevent any threat to Israelis. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that no account would remain unsettled regarding military actions against Hezbollah.
Reports indicate that Israel killed two Hezbollah commanders as part of these attacks. The Israeli military's strategy heavily focuses on military leadership, but the civilian casualties raise questions about the impact on the civilian population during military operations.
In response to the attacks, Hezbollah has demanded that the Lebanese government terminate negotiations with Israel, which they perceive as humiliating. This could further escalate tensions between the two countries.
The offensive and the resulting threats from Israel could destabilize the region, especially considering the anticipated negotiations. Experts warn of the potentially long-term consequences of these military confrontations, which could further jeopardize peace in the region.
