Northern and Central Interior Municipalities at Maximum Fire Risk

This Sunday, the majority of municipalities located in the northern and central interior of mainland Portugal are under maximum fire risk, according to information from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA). This situation raises concerns about the elevated risk of ignitions due to climatic conditions.

The IPMA has issued a warning to local authorities and the public, stressing the need for caution in fire-prone areas. The alert arises from rising temperatures and low air humidity, factors that contribute to the increased risk of wildfires.
