On September 7, 19 municipalities in five districts of Portugal are under a maximum rural fire danger warning. The affected districts include Bragança, Guarda, Santarém, Portalegre, and Faro, according to information from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
The high temperatures forecasted for today contribute to this elevated alert level. Additionally, the districts of Évora, Lisbon, Beja, and Castelo Branco are under a yellow warning due to the heat.
IPMA warns of the risks associated with these weather conditions, which may favor the ignition and spread of fires.
