Severe fire danger affects over 50 municipalities in Portugal
Over 50 municipalities in Portugal face extreme rural fire danger due to high temperatures, warned the IPMA.

More than 50 municipalities in Portugal are under maximum threat of rural fire, as reported by the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA). The affected districts include Castelo Branco, Guarda, Coimbra, Santarém, Leiria, Portalegre, and Faro.
The IPMA indicated that maximum temperatures in the affected regions will range between 28 and 38 degrees Celsius in the coming days. This rise in temperature contributes to the increased risk of fire.
In addition to the 50 municipalities, the IPMA has also placed around 70 municipalities at a very high risk of fire. This alert was issued due to the adverse weather conditions expected for the region, which include intense heat.

The IPMA's warnings suggest that the danger of rural fire will remain high in some areas of the country at least until next Monday, necessitating attention from both authorities and the population.
In various areas, local authorities and the IPMA are implementing prevention plans, including surveillance measures and recommendations to avoid activities that could spark fires.
The weather conditions and forecast of high temperatures raise concerns about safety and the management of natural resources, especially during peak fire risk periods.
