Temperatures to Rise by Up to 12 Degrees Starting Wednesday
The IPMA forecasts a significant increase in temperatures in Portugal, especially inland, due to a high-pressure system.

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) has announced that starting Wednesday, temperatures in Portugal could rise by up to 12 degrees Celsius. This increase follows a week of temperatures below what is typical for this time of year.
The impact of the temperature rise will be more pronounced inland, where highs could approach 40 degrees. However, the southern coastal strip is expected to experience a less significant increase, as indicated by IPMA specialists.
This phenomenon is linked to the presence of a high-pressure system located northwest of mainland Portugal, which will be responsible for this abnormal heat. This weather event alters atmospheric currents, thereby influencing temperatures.

In addition to high temperatures, the IPMA warns of the possibility of adverse weather conditions, although it did not provide specific details regarding forecasts of wind or precipitation. This is a situation that warrants attention, particularly for those residing in areas more vulnerable to heat.
Expectations are that these elevated temperatures will persist for several days. Therefore, it is recommended that the public takes precautions, especially those more sensitive to heat.
