The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) announced today that the number of districts under yellow warning due to heat has increased from 14 to 17. This alert is valid until 9 PM today.
The affected districts include Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Guarda, and Faro, among others. The IPMA highlights that Viana do Castelo is the only exception to this warning.
This increase in the number of districts under yellow alert reflects adverse weather conditions and rising temperatures, which have been a concern in recent weeks.
The situation is being monitored by the IPMA, which will continue to update forecasts and relevant alerts as necessary.
