The Israeli army announced that it had taken control of an underground base belonging to the Lebanese militia Hezbollah, located in the strategically important area of the Ali al-Taher hill in southern Lebanon. According to information provided by Israel, the base includes essential infrastructure such as command centers, arms depots, as well as facilities for personnel, including dormitories, showers, and a kitchen.

Israeli authorities declared that the process of clearing the underground infrastructure has been completed, and they are now working on the 'neutralization' of this structure, which includes two main passages.

Reports indicate that this operation aims to strengthen the 'security zone' that Israel maintains in southern Lebanon. This crucial area is considered a key element for future military operations and for preventing any action from Hezbollah in the region.

According to other sources, Hezbollah responded to this takeover by downplaying its significance, describing the actions of the Israeli forces as an electoral maneuver by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. However, there has been no confirmation from Lebanese authorities regarding this takeover.

The Israeli army also emphasized the strategic position of the captured hill, which lies north of the Litani River, on the outskirts of the area occupied by Israel in southern Lebanon.

Information has been reported by several media outlets, including Südtirol News, Le Monde, and DER STANDARD, regarding the Israeli operation and its implications for security in the region.
