Today, the Athletics Euro kicked off in Birmingham, where Jonathan Sacoor qualified for the semi-finals of the 400 meters. Sacoor, the 26-year-old athlete from Brabant, achieved this qualification during his heat on Monday.

Despite his successful heat victory, Sacoor expressed criticism of the new qualification system, which he feels is perceived as very unfair. He is not alone in this; his teammate Rani Rosius has also spoken negatively about the system.

Sacoor will participate in the semi-finals alongside Daniel Segers, who automatically qualified via the European ranking. Both must adjust to the changes in the qualification system, which they believe affects the atmosphere of the Euro.
