Jürgen Klopp made his debut as the national coach of the German national team, earning the first points in the Nations League. The match against the Netherlands ended in a 1-1 draw in Amsterdam. Felix Nmecha scored the opening goal for Germany in the 32nd minute, but the team could not hold onto the lead until the end. In stoppage time, Cody Gakpo found the net for the Netherlands and equalized.

Klopp introduced himself to the German fans as 'the New', a reference to his previous title of 'the Normal One' at Liverpool. In his speech, he urged the team to rise above themselves and utilize the strength of the community to overcome the mistakes of past tournaments, particularly following recent losses in World Cups.

Before the match, Klopp expressed hope that the team could learn from their experiences. Despite the passion and enthusiasm displayed by his players, the team was prone to errors that ultimately affected the points outcome. There were particular weaknesses in defensive organization that the Dutch were able to exploit.

The match was marked by intensity, with Germany on course for a victory for much of the time. Klopp, who was not completely satisfied after the draw, highlighted some positive individual performances from his players but emphasized that the team still had potential for improvement.

The opening match under Klopp was also overshadowed by personnel issues, particularly the injury to Jamal Musiala, who was unable to participate. Klopp is awaiting the result of an MRI examination to assess the severity of the injury and to plan the player's return.

Overall, the German national team aims to return to former successes through strong team performances in this new era while working on a clear concept under their new coach. The players' reactions indicated they are ready to adapt to the new directives.
