Justin Verboomen could not win a medal in the individual Grand Prix Special at the World Equestrian Championships in Aachen. The 39-year-old rider finished in fifth place on Friday. Earlier this week, he and the Belgian dressage team secured fourth place in the team competition.

Expectations were high for the Belgian delegation, with Verboomen seen as a strong contender for podium finishes. However, the results from the individual Grand Prix Special were not enough to earn a medal.

On Saturday, Verboomen will have another opportunity to win the first Belgian World Championship medal in dressage during the Grand Prix Freestyle, where he will compete again.
