Kasia Niewiadoma wins on Mont Ventoux and takes the yellow jersey in Tour de France Femmes

During the seventh stage of the Tour de France Femmes, Kasia Niewiadoma achieved victory on Mont Ventoux. The Polish cyclist completed the stage with a lead of over a minute ahead of her nearest rivals, Demi Vollering and Marlen Reusser.

Demi Vollering, who was keen to challenge overall leader Marlen Reusser, was unable to launch her attack in time at the end of the stage. Her attempt to take the yellow jersey came too late, allowing Niewiadoma to seize her opportunity.

This marked the first time that the Tour de France Femmes finished on Mont Ventoux, an iconic mountain that was climbed for the first time in the women's edition of the race. This stage thus became the highlight of this edition.

Niewiadoma's victory not only secures her the stage win but also means she takes the lead in the overall classification from Reusser. Earlier, Niewiadoma had already claimed the final classification in the Tour.

According to various sources, Vollering and Reusser focused too much on each other, giving Niewiadoma the chance to break away solo. This tactic from the two competitors proved unsuccessful.

Kasia Niewiadoma, now the leader in the classification, appears to have a strong chance of winning this edition of the Tour de France Femmes, with two stages remaining.
