As the solar eclipse approaches, observing the phenomenon becomes a priority for many, leading to a rush to pharmacies in Lisbon. Stores report difficulties in restocking certified eclipse glasses, resulting in long lines and constant attempts to find them available in the Portuguese capital.

According to reports, some pharmacies still have glasses available, but the shortage is widespread, and many consumers leave empty-handed. Meanwhile, others opt for alternative solutions, turning to online markets that, according to the National Association of Pharmacies, are charging exorbitant prices, with some models being sold for 100 euros.

The heightened demand for eclipse glasses is driven by the desire to view the phenomenon safely. The president of the National Association of Pharmacies indicated that the market is under pressure, as many establishments are unable to order new products from their suppliers due to high demand.

Customers have been turning to various retail points, but uncertainty remains about the availability of glasses. Reports from consumers reveal frustration and anxiety, highlighting a chaotic scene in pharmacies where the hope of purchasing the appropriate glasses is limited.

In addition to pharmacies, there is a warning about the dangers associated with using non-certified glasses. Health authorities are alerting to the risks of observing the eclipse without proper precautions, emphasizing the importance of acquiring glasses that meet necessary safety standards.

Meanwhile, Colombian authorities report a different situation, with the number of victims from a recent earthquake increasing. This local concern contrasts with the frantic search for eclipse glasses in Lisbon; however, both events reflect a rush for safety, whether for eye protection or to safeguard life.
