Latvia uncovers another smuggling tunnel underneath border with Belarus
The Latvian border guard has discovered a smuggling tunnel for the second time in ten days along the border with Belarus.

The Latvian border guard has discovered an illegal tunnel under the fence at the border with Belarus. This is the second time in ten days that such a tunnel has been dismantled. The tunnel provides migrants with an opportunity to enter the European Union illegally.
At the time of this discovery, 28 individuals were attempting to enter Latvia through the tunnel, but they have since been sent back. Latvian authorities have not released any further details about the individuals who used the tunnel.

According to Latvia, Belarus is using migration as a means to exert pressure on the European Union. This aligns with previous accusations of attempts to destabilize the EU.
The discovery of the tunnel comes at a time when Latvia is strengthening its border controls due to growing concerns about illegal migration from Belarus. The Latvian border guard remains vigilant and is taking measures to detect further smuggling tunnels.
