Legionnaires' disease in Savoie: 46 cases and three deaths since June
An outbreak of Legionnaires' disease has been reported in Savoie, with 46 cases and three related deaths, according to health authorities.

According to the Regional Health Agency, 46 cases of Legionnaires' disease have been recorded in Savoie between June 1 and August 14. Among these cases, three people have died.
Investigations are focused around Chambéry, where the majority of infections have been noted. Health authorities continue their analyses to determine the origin of these infections.

Two of the recorded deaths are linked to a private water network, according to information from 20 Minutes. Authorities are continuing to scrutinize water supply systems in the region.
Legionnaires' disease is an infectious illness that can be fatal in about 10% of cases. Monitoring the cases and efforts to identify the source of contamination remain a priority for public health officials.
