Leon Black Sues House Oversight Committee Over Epstein Probe Subpoenas
Leon Black has filed a lawsuit against the House Oversight Committee after failing to appear for a scheduled deposition regarding his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Leon Black, a billionaire financier and former associate of Jeffrey Epstein, has initiated a lawsuit against the House Oversight Committee following his non-appearance at a scheduled deposition. The committee had previously served him with subpoenas during a voluntary interview in June, where he reportedly left abruptly after declining to answer questions regarding non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
The committee aimed to obtain documents related to these NDAs as part of its investigation into Epstein's activities. Black's legal team contends that the NDAs sought by the committee are unrelated to his dealings with Epstein and asserts that the committee does not possess the authority to compel him to produce them.
In his lawsuit, Black challenged the validity of the subpoenas, arguing they are beyond the scope of the committee's jurisdiction. He did not attend the deposition scheduled for Thursday, further indicating his refusal to comply with the committee's demands.

The Oversight Committee is examining various individuals' connections to Epstein, including their financial ties and the implications of any undisclosed agreements. Black has acknowledged a long-standing professional relationship with Epstein, who was previously accused of numerous sexual offenses.
As the legal battle unfolds, the committee continues to seek cooperation from those linked to Epstein in an effort to shed more light on his dealings and the network surrounding him.
