OM won its first Ligue 1 match of the 2026-2027 season with a convincing 4-0 win over Strasbourg.
In the opening match of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, Olympique de Marseille delivered a convincing performance by defeating Strasbourg 4-0 at the Vélodrome. Amine Gouiri opened the scoring in the 46th minute, becoming the first goalscorer of the new season.
In addition to Gouiri's goal, two other players found the net for OM: Keyliane Abdallah and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The team displayed great cohesion and was able to impose its game throughout the match.
This victory marks the first official match for Bruno Genesio as head coach of OM. The club started the season without any new signings but managed to capitalize on its current squad to dominate the game.
The match was also characterized by a solid game management by Marseille, which maintained pressure on Strasbourg, who struggled to find solutions to get back into the match. The OM players showed great determination, which facilitated their wide victory.
