Kevin Reddington, the defense attorney for Lindsay Clancy, has filed an emergency motion requesting that all proceedings be conducted openly in court rather than through sidebars, which are private discussions between the judge and attorneys. This motion was submitted ahead of a potential mistrial decision in the case.
In a separate development, Reddington also submitted an emergency appeal to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts aimed at preventing Judge William Sullivan of Plymouth Superior Court from declaring a mistrial. The legal actions are happening as the trial progresses under significant scrutiny.
